The VideoLAN project is the home of VLC media player ("VLC" standing for VideoLAN Client), libdvdcss, libdca, x264 and a few more multimedia programs. VideoLAN originated at a Paris Grande Ecole but is now an international free software project. It is available under the GNU General Public License.
