The VideoLAN project is the home of VLC media player ("VLC" standing for VideoLAN Client), libdvdcss, libdca, x264 and a few more multimedia programs. VideoLAN originated at Centrale Paris (a French school, aka ECP) but is now an international free software project. It is available under the GNU General Public License.
