I feel tempted to rewrite this page, or at least clean it up. What's a good codec description in the wiki I could follow?

I'm pretty sure all the idct code could be removed.

That's what wikis are for. Edit to your heart's content, please. As for how you should lay out the description: do what you need to get the idea across. It's pretty open-ended. Is the IDCT compatible with JPEG/MPEG? I have never verified. --Multimedia Mike 22:24, 20 March 2008 (EDT)
