: my question, should we include non-opensource projects in the first place? does 'projects' mean opensource? or just software? maybe just have groups 'open source' 'gpl violations' 'windows frontends' 'linux frontends' etc... also are we going to have descriptions for these projects like mplayer projects list ? --[[User:Compn|Compn]] 15:10, 3 September 2007 (EDT)

Compn - it has been mentioned on ffmpeg-devel that we shouldn't name-and-shame gpl violating projects until we give them an opportunity to rectify the situation. Also, you can already add descriptions for projects if you want, check out http://wiki.multimedia.cx/index.php?title=Category:Multimedia_Programs . We already have non-opensource stuff there, and it's useful for a reference. [[User:Crybaby|Crybaby]] 20:21, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
