SMJPEG is a basic FMV format developed by Loki Software for porting FMV to Linux games. Generally, in cases that native Windows game versions used proprietary multimedia playback solutions for FMV playback, most notably [[Smacker]] or [[Bink Container|Bink]], SMJPEG would be substituted. The format packages video as a sequence of intra-coded JPEG frames along with standard [[IMA ADPCM]] audio ([[SMJPEG IMA ADPCM|using a custom packing]]).
