The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is responsible for developing internet standards. The IETF publishes standards for a variety of multimedia technologies:

  • RFC 3533: Ogg Container Format
  • RFC 6716: Opus Audio Codec
  • RFC 3550: RTP
  • RFC 5215: RTP Payload Format for Vorbis Encoded Audio
  • RFC 2326: RTSP
  • RFC 6386: VP8 Video Codec
